Over Voltage Protection - Don't Let Your Charge Pump Explode
Переглядів 5 тис.2 роки тому
In this video, we go over a circuit designed to protect your pedal from over-voltage called a crowbar circuit. This doesn't allow voltages above 9V to pass, which may be necessary when trying to protect a charge pump IC. To do this, we use a 9.1V Zener Diode and an SCR. Helpful and well explained 🙌
AC V-1s -vv as such give you plenty Hfe of 5. Basically a funked tr. (Sell them for a gig). They might as well be fthemselves transistors, el coral. I like dumbshits in glass at Hfe 20's but who knows shit. Gotta buy more pots 🤞😐
SOS or save 60% of our transistors Bassists deserve to funk too righteously? I thought it was a filter capacitor. Dummy 😜 I thiifht wrong. There is a whole bias cinfiguration in the first stage. Then bias the last 🤭🤫 Who made these ama zzz ibg mounds of shit?
I like the bad set to my ears
i am guessing a Tonebender does not suffer as much either.. I really like the fuzz face but its a pain with this as even the WAH has a buffer and stuffs it, put the WAH after and it sounds terrible
I like it! and I subscribe! Greetings!
Fantastic. Mate, can you tell if I can wire multiple inputs and outputs to a single of those buffers? I'm trying to sort a patchbay to my pedalboard.. thanks in advance!
This is going to take me more that seven minutes.
Well since I've been doing this pretty much since pedals first came on the market. Here's one thing that I've noticed if you buy cheap ass pedals like the ones on Amazon no name garbage .... That also means you're more than most likely buying generic cables as well. If you stick to the mid-grade stuff you'll be fine. The high grade stuff you'll be even better. Cheap ass pedals cheap ass chords with a cheap ass power supply. Guess what you're going to sound like a cheap ass 6th grader .🤨 And that's fine if that's what works for you. But don't be posting any videos anywhere and acting like you are the shit. Because 99% of the videos that most people post of them playing guitar and whatnot. Sounds like garbage. Just being honest if you can't handle it... you know what you can do.
As much hype as the 308 gets, this demo showcased that the OP07 is the better opamp.
Hi thanks for this quick tip - I am totally new to this, but it's no clear to me whether static protection really matters. So you won't damage the chip if you hold it just like that, without connecting your wrist to the ground?
gold !
Hallo, Image this Circle but it don't run 😭 just Bypass clean sound. what kann be the Mistake?
You are the man! Thanks so much for this.
I built this recently and it's one of the best choruses I've ever played, but I cannot get rid of the clock noise. I wired it a couple different times with the wires as far away from the BBD as possible, but still quite noisy on certain settings.
Has anyone bought this that lives in the united states? I'm a little worried about shipping from Europe. Is there any where to buy it from in the states, or is the shipping reliable?
Thx
Would you have to do anything different with hard/soft clipping diodes for distortion when doing this biasing? And do you have to unbias it at the output?
I can't find a pdf of the schematic? I can use the video to work it out if you didn't provide one.
Excellent and clever project for the guitar pedal builder - many thanks!
Love how this showed the breadboard. If I don’t see a picture of it I have trouble still…
Really interesting and useful. May the fuzz be with you!
What phaser circuit - mxr phase 90?
This looks like a great sit for guitar pedal builders. Just subscribed.
This was very helpful thank you
4kHz peak is where the MM Stingray Bass has its famous tone.
Great Great Great 👍👍👍👍👍
I had trouble getting the little tabs to hold once I had pried on them. Ended up having to shim the bottom of the switch so it wouldn't just pop out every time I pressed it.
dont you know how to use pcb
sorry and great video Thanks you
I am doing exactly the same bought the scope I (Guitarist / Electronics Tech. I am reinventing my long lost 1970 Coloursound Wah Swell. I am going to feed a sig gen sine wave into the wah it should not make any difference to a single note only amplification when the band pass filter sweeps through and coincides with the sine wave test signal. It works on the guitar note only because of the multiple harmonics generated
Hey, I'm a guitar player and I've been trying to learn about pedals and circuits. This video puts a lot of light and bridges the gap between theory diagram charts with the real board, so thanks! 😬🤟
You are my savior
Need to address pedals that use center pole negative vs your example is center pole positive. So you then have to consider switching the negative side of power to the device vs positive.
Enjoyed your video. Very informative and interesting. Thanks for sharing.
I'm just getting into pedal building/modification, and you have some of the best, most helpful videos out of any of the ones i've seen. Very few people go into enough depth on what the parts are, but you're top tier helpful man
i just use a basic flat head screwdriver, across the terminals on the capacitors for the 220 v electric motor that runs a compressor at the body shop i work in and so far i'm not too dead yet,,, so just discharge the caps and you're ok
Do you have a link to that printable template?
Thank you for the video. "Loctite" correct spelling
before you use a socket, get some Blue locktight, I wouldn't recommend the red. You will never need to tighten them again. Back off the nut first so you get some locktight where the nut threads are seated.
I assume I can use resistors in series to make up 2.472k and 2.2M, right? It makes no difference electrically.
What is this fingernail ROFL
Is there a link to cables?
Hi. This video is great. As I understand it, the first circuit is the piggybacked transistor 'tester' circuit. Is that correct and R1 and R2 are ommited in the FF circuit as they are not needed. Have you experimented with simulating leakage at all. I found a comment on a forum from RG Kean saying to add a germanium diode between the new collector and base (where you have the high-roll-off cap). Have you explored this at all?
What is the output impedance of the buffer? I can't see it on the schematics you provided.
I have pin 1 and 5 open circuit, but the resistances don't match anywhere else on my labelled LM308N???
Have you guys ever made one of these into a octave fuzz?
Moltes grácies, es incrible la teva feina.
Love my infinity Indonesian built ..beautiful guitar .
Super informative video. Love your stuff
